 Milo, a 13-year old orangutan who for the past several years had been illegally held at the Phuket Zoo, has been rescued.

Animal rights activist Vicki Kiely led the charge to free Milo, but the ground swell of public opinion and the expectation of a raid on the zoo created a turn of events that could have easily have cost the great ape her life.
